Maps and Resources
Nashville's commitment to being a walk/bike friendly city is making it easier than ever to get around. In the past 10 years, greenways have tripled, from 15 miles to 45 miles, while bikeways have grown even faster, from 6 miles to 140 miles.
But all this does not necessarily help someone bike from their house to a given destination. For that you need a system of routes that are friendly for even the most novice of cyclists, and get you into and around neighborhoods.
Nashville's new bike mapThe Groove is an innovative map of easy-riding routes across Nashville that interconnects neighborhoods and highlights comfortable cycling for all level riders.
Nashville has many easy-riding routes within five miles of the Downtown district, which have been compiled for the "The Groove". The Groove routes are organized into two main loops (in brown), with corresponding cut-throughs and off-shoots (in orange). The Groove makes it possible for cyclists of all skill levels to comfortably bike to and from parks, schools, workplaces, attractions and hot spot business districts.
