EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS POINT OF DISPENSING (POD) EXERCISE

Friday, March 15, 2013 Metro Public Health Department

A POD is where the general public would go to receive medication or vaccine in case of an outbreak/terrorist event (e.g. H1N1, Anthrax, etc.) The PODs will be staffed by Metro Public Health employees and volunteers. Volunteers are needed to serve as simulated "patients" coming through the POD. No additional training or background is needed; all instructions will be given the day of the exercise. Volunteers can expect to be at either location (they can choose which one to attend) from 7:30 a.m. until noon. T-shirts, emergency preparedness information bags and lunch will be provided to all who participate. Click here for additional information, contact Todd Baker at 615-340-0535.
